Freddie Kimmel (00:03.308)
Welcome to the Beautifully Broken podcast. I'm your host, Freddie Kimmel, and on the show, we explore the survivor's journey, practitioners making a difference, and the therapeutic treatments and transformational technology that allow the body to heal itself. Witness the inspiration we gain by navigating the human experience with grace, humility, and a healthy dose of mistakes, because part of being human is being beautifully broken.

Freddie Kimmel (00:35.267)
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the beautifully broken podcast. We are just creeping on 2024 coming to the end of the year and what a year it has been. I'm looking at all the name tags and badges from the events I went to this year. The Upgrade Conference, I went to EECO, which is Cell Core's big event. I went to CryoCon. I went to Ivy Biz Bash.

just left A4M in Las Vegas really looking at longevity over the next decade. There are some exciting things coming down the pipe, things like fecal transplant pills without the bacteria or stem cells that have been stripped of their genetic information for topical application. Nano oxygen warm bathtubs, that one really got me excited. New red light technology that will bring coherence from the brain to the gut.

There's a lot of technology that complements mitochondrial health, which I'm a huge fan of and I'm a huge believer. And I think I saw from this year and this event, there is a growing awareness how important our health is. If you don't have your health, in my lived experience, we don't have anything. And so this is something I carry around. This is my worldview. Most of the choices I make in my life

are around how can I be the best possible version of myself because without it, I can't pursue my dreams. And so it's easy. Where do I eat today? Well, as clean of food as I can possibly garnish. Now, it's interesting. I was just in Las Vegas. It's a little more challenging to eat clean. You got to do what you do, right? But then you reach into your toolbox and you support digestion.

drainage, detoxification, really good sleep when you can't get the most optimal food. But this awareness that I carry, it's growing because there were 5,000 people at this conference and everybody was excited. Everybody was excited. You know, I mentioned the technology, the thought leaders in the room were absolutely incredible what people are doing. But what I'd say is sometimes because I live in this world, this little silo of wellness,

Freddie Kimmel (02:59.609)
I know it's the people that don't do any of these things that need the most help and they need the message boiled down to a level of simplicity where it's not overwhelming and they have a way to move forward. What's one step forward look like to you? It could just be changing from tap water in your sink to a very affordable filter. It could just be a carbon filter, just a little bit. What's one step forward look like?

for somebody in your family. It could be turning down the fluorescent lights in the home, taking a couple hours before bed and not being exposed to the lights from your TV and looking at that habitual sleep pattern before you go into your bedroom.

It might be applying blackout blinds to your room. So the environment is so dark, the receptors on your skin aren't picking up additional light and you just sleep a little bit better.

I'm going give you, I want you to answer me at home. What's an example of just one step forward that you can maintain for a month? What's that look like? It could be just three solid minutes of a box breath before you start to engulf your food. So your digestion is better. Right? We talk about digestion starts in the mouth.

One of the oncologists I interviewed this year, he's, you know, one the most important things to do, slow down while you're eating and do 30 to 40 bites every bite of food. God, we eat fast. I look around now, I'm so aware of it. And then team, I don't do that every meal, but I think about it and I do try to slow down. But it's about the simple things. Here's what I love about the simple things is they're free to everybody.

Freddie Kimmel (04:57.798)
The majority can do these tomorrow. They don't need to buy anything. You know, the fancy red light beds or PEMF therapy or multi-step oxygen therapy, exercise with oxygen therapy, hydrogen gas, they're great. But when you see the marketing, it'll be the one thing to save your health that is inaccurate. It's just a tool. I love those things. I do them. They help me immensely.

But today, your one step forward would be to go outside and walk barefoot for 10 to 30 minutes. And there is a different exchange of electrons to the base of the foot. You could almost think like electron therapy. It's like if you were to have a straw filled with BBs and you're to slowly push a BB in the bottom of the straw, the top BB pops out. That's almost how electrons move through the body. And how long would it take to get those electrons?

to reach your stomach if you're experiencing stomach pains, dysbiosis, indigestion. And what does that therapeutic dose look like over 90 days? It's some level of a commitment. I like the idea of just one step forward into what does it feel like to fully breathe?

Freddie Kimmel (06:24.241)
You can hear that congestion, right? But just that one breath. I remember going to a structural integrative therapist in New York and I was there for a knee or a hip or something like that when I was doing music theater. And he goes, man, your rib cage is locked down. I was like, what does that even mean? And he just started to do some work on my rib cage. He put his hands on my obliques. I took a deep breath in and it pushed out my hands. We did that with some feedback.

and all of a sudden I got a little lightheaded, my lips got a little tingly and red. It was an incredible experience. It was like, oh my God, I was breathing like that for months and months. I didn't even know it. What do you think the net effects are of that over 10 years? They're profound. But these are simple adjustments. You know, I talk often about how it's valuable just to grab a little piece of medical tape and put it over your lips.

What are you going to be consistent with? You know, I stopped on the way home at the Grand Canyon and watched the sun come up and I tell you, the red, the predominant reds in the morning sun over the canyon were incredible. I have a video of it on my Instagram. It'll be up by the time I post this podcast. It was incredible. And I just stood there and I was like,

Of course we're using red light therapy in our homes. We spend 90 % of our lives in a box shielded from the therapeutic healing spectrum of red light that regenerates the cones in the eyes for good vision. Of course we've engineered in that technology because we're deficient in it. It makes perfect sense. But the red light therapy device you could use, it's not new to the market. It's 4.603

billion years old. That's the sun. I'm sure there's updated models but that one's free. And when you're up at dawn, when you're out at nature and you're around other people and you're taking the sin, it's a spiritual experience, nothing short of. And what I love about this very old model of red light therapy, the sun, is that it's free to everyone. It's free to everybody.

Freddie Kimmel (08:48.67)
So I get really excited about this stuff because the things I just mentioned, the oxygen and the electrons, right? A little bit about movement, which just falls by the wayside. I come back from these events, right, with all these technologies. And I've said this before, and it's not in a way of judgment, but sometimes the owners of the company or the people working for these

technology, they are not living that in their embodiment or their lifestyle. They're not doing it. Because if it was so profound, right, if you could just get it from a box or a button, if there was an easy button to come back into alignment with nature, then your body would take this pristine warrior shape. But it doesn't. You know, if there was an easy button for it,

you drop your 40 to 50 visceral pounds of belly fat and the bags under your eyes would go away and it would just be, that would be a device, right? That would be a device. Now, we can do that. We can do that with a wonderful esthetician, right? We can inject the skin. But it's almost like having a beautiful like 1970s Corvette and the engine has been frozen because the block locked up and it needs a new muffler.

you know, the rims are out of balance and needs new tires. It's almost like just throwing paint on that car and like, look at what I got. Yeah, but it doesn't work well or at all. And that's why we got to go back. I say all these things that are free that you have agency to do today. And that's what it's about. And I'm telling you, from the functional medicine doctors to the biological medicine thought leaders to the plastic surgeons, to the heart surgeons, to the

I could go on and on and on. The podcasters and the influencers. It's rare that people do the things they're supposed to do. And you just got to ask yourself why? Why do I keep kicking it down the road? What am I waiting for? So I wanted to give this podcast because I want to empower you to take your one step towards something simple that will change your life. Pick one.

Freddie Kimmel (11:14.91)
and give it a 90-day cycle. Maybe it's just focusing on your sleep hygiene or being outside in a morning walk. Maybe it's learning how to breathe. Maybe it's quality of food. But what are you going to write down and make an agreement to? There's all the opportunity. There's all the information in the world. You probably don't need a course on this. You probably don't need to buy another course to figure out what are the ancient lifestyle techniques to align my health.

with what I dream it to be. Do you want to know what the completion rate is on an online course across all educational platforms? It's like 10%. I would really reach out, who is your accountability partner in your life? If anything, if anything, that's why I do this podcast. There's always like a hint or a clue or an opportunity to lean into. What do you want to be next year?

How do you want it to feel? How do you want it to evolve? It's all on you. And if you're not the person that's a self-starter, if you're a person who gets lost in the sauce, find somebody that's gonna hold a mirror up for you and keep reminding you that you said you wanted this, it's time to go. And so when we do the simple things like this, we're gonna have less instance of disease.

I'm going to have – my hope is that in my inner circle, less friends call me and say, Freddie, I had some really bad news this week. Really bad news. You I was diagnosed with cancer this week. All too common and I'm so over those phone calls. But it's the ultimate – it's the ultimate alarming fork in the road in which

your body is going to tell you, I'm no longer going to live this way. I'm no longer going to honor these stress patterns. I'm no longer going to accept this food as fuel. I'm no longer willing to deal with four to five shitty hours of sleep at night. I'm not willing. So, we're going to make a change and I'm going to do it by force because we're going to increase

Freddie Kimmel (13:37.304)
We're gonna move up the time stamp on your life. You we never ever know, we never know. I say this to myself often, I never know you're gonna wake up in the morning. It is not a guarantee. However, however, when we wake up and we have that moment of deep gratitude and appreciation that had happened again.

Now what are you gonna do with that day? Right? What are you gonna do with that day? And so we can start to build the framework of life on how we want it to be. And what better place to launch from when we're coming from that energy of what a gift it happened again, I'm alive. Team, that's really all I have to say. Take agency, change something today that you wanna change. could be so simple.

I have found great value, I've said this many times this year, in just writing things down. There is something about the act of handwriting a note or a dream or a vision onto a piece of paper, onto a whiteboard. It's different than the mental note. It's different than the meditation. It's different than making a digital note. I do believe there's science behind this. And I just want to say I love you guys. It was a fabulous year.

of growth and change and heartache and all the things that make life worth living for. So, I'm going to close it down. I hope everybody has a wonderful season, whatever you celebrate. And if you don't have a family, if you don't have friends to celebrate with, my heart's with you because I know that's not everybody. This is Freddie from the Beautifully Broken Podcast. Big love.
